THIS CLASS WILL HAVE 10 STUDENTS WHO WILL WORK TOGETHER TO BUILD ONE CANOE. PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO BUILD THEIR OWN CANOE AFTER COMPLETION OF THE CLASS. THE CLASS WILL BE PRESENTED BY NEWFOUND WOODWORKS LOCATED IN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND WILL 6 DAYS LONG.
This class is scheduled for the fall of '26. The class will be taught by Newfound Woodworks located in New Hampshire. We are hosting this class to allow eliminate the cost of travel and lodging associated with their on-site classes
The class will consist of no more than 10 students who will work together to build a 16 foot canoe. All necessary skills to complete a canoe will be taught and students will actually incorporate those skills in the building of the canoe. This is a 6 day class that will result in the completion of a canoe
The cost of the class is $1,950 per student. This class will include a complete set of plans for building your own canoe and Newfound Woodworks offers a complete package of materials for the canoe at a cost of $3,500. The cost of buying one of these canoes ranges from $8,500 to over $10,000, depending on the wood and finishes.
